The mobile as a platform for social and economic development at the base of the pyramid around the developing world, as per The Economist, couldn't have happened without Finnish engineering standards and Indian ingenuity working around scarcity. Imagine the bop mobile space without Nokia, and think about it for a moment. Or to quote @changeist, pondering, not pushing. Nokia meri jaan is not a joke in India, but its not enough for a sustainable future. On the other side of the coin, Bharti Airtel is doing so well and the MTN talks are stumbling again, one wonders why Bharti can't merge with Nokia for emerging services markets globally speaking?
