Bio
- Emerging consumer markets knowledge and expertise covering design, strategy and marcom for new product development and design planning.
- Multidisciplinary design planner who is able to identify opportunity gaps and derive insights from exploratory research to offer cohesive, articulate recommendations for future planning
- Extensive knowledge of the role of the mobile in emerging markets, particularly the effect on the social and economic development of societies and the changes wrought in the lifestyles of those at the bottom of the pyramid.
- Research Lead – India and ASEAN - local liaison, field research management, logistics and planning, coordinating and organizing all the activities required onsite in the locations selected for research.

Almost two decades of international experience includes Hewlett Packard, McCann Erickson, the Institute of Design, IIT Chicago, The Second City and clients such as Adobe, Core77, CardinalHealth, Method, Metadesign and NewDealDesign when she practiced as a design strategy consultant in San Francisco, CA. Currently based in Singapore.
She studied design planning and strategy at the Institute of Design, IIT, Chicago while working fulltime as Director, Graduate Recruiting from 2002 –2005. She also has an MBA in Strategy from Pittsburgh, a first class in engineering from Bangalore University and was part of the graduate product design program at the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad.
Active participation in the heady days of the Indian market’s liberalization in the mid 1990’s with experience launching new products, brands and services from around the globe and introducing them in India’s chaotic bazaars. Brands worked on include Coca Cola, Bank of America retail banking, Hewlett Packard, Creative Labs, Levi’s jeans, Windows 95 and Coty among others.
A globally acclaimed author of numerous thought pieces on innovation, business strategy in emerging markets, design thinking and design strategy, her articles can be found in BusinessWeek, Core77, New Design Magazine, the Journal of the Chartered Society of Designers, UK as well as on her blog Perspective 2.0
She is a Member of the Advisory Board for UNESCO’s Social Design Network and was invited to join the UK Design Council’s Cox Europe Mission 2007 to study innovation and creative practices for higher education and business.
